Kishan busy with four scripts

National Award winning director Kishan Shrikanth, who has entered the Guinness Book of Records for being the world’s youngest filmmaker by venturing into filmmaking at the age of nine with Care of Footpath, is now busy working on four scripts to direct his second film soon. Declining to divulge more about his plans, Kishan, who is now 12, said that unlike his previous film, his next film would not have a social theme.

The child actor-turned-director Kishan won dozens of awards for his debut venture Care of Footpath, including the Swarna Kamal and the National Award for Best Children’s Film at the recently held 54th National Indian Film Awards. Kishan wrote the story and screenplay, and also played the lead role in the film, which was originally made in Kannada, then released in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

The film has now been made in Hindi as Born In India. The Hindi version, shot extensively in the US and India, stars Jackie Shroff and Saurabh Shukla, apart from some kids.

During his visit to Florence, Italy, Kishan was also offered a role by Oscar-winning filmmaker Roberto Benigni in his forthcoming project Kim, based on Rudyard Kipling’s novel of the same name.
