The highly-anticipated King of Kotha trailer is out now and is an action-packed feast from start to finish for Dulquer Salmaan's fans everywhere. Directed by debutant Abhilash Joshy based on a story and screenplay written by Abhilash N. Chandran, the film also releasing in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi languages sees the Malayalam superstar sharing screen space with several popular names starting with Ponniyin Selvan fame Aishwarya Lekshmi, who is playing the female lead, followed by Prasanna, Sarpatta Parambarai star Dancing Rose Shabeer, Nyla Usha, Chemban Vinod, Gokul Suresh, Shammi Thilakan, Shanthi Krishna, Viswasam actress Anikha Surendran, and Vada Chennai actor Saran appearing in key roles.
The King of Kotha trailer starts off establishing the time period the story is set and we see several people watching the legendary Argentinian Diego Maradona in a football match on a television. The visuals then cut to a live football match sometime in the 1980s-1990s, with a considerable build-up for Dulquer Salmaan's introduction as Raju, whose ambition is to become a gangster like his father. He soon rises to become "the people's hero", who has Kotha under his control, with the plot revolving around the drug peddling trade in the region. There are also moments where see DQ showing his dribbling skills on the football field while hitting all check marks in the action department. The King of Kotha trailer also features Aishwarya Lekshmi paired with Dulquer and gives audiences a glimpse into their romance, with Ritika Singh making a special guest appearance in a song, while Tamil actor Prasanna is seen as a cop on a mission.
Dulquer's King of Kotha trailer offers audiences a clear look at the massive action awaiting them in theatres starting August 25 when the film releases as a grand Onam treat. The visuals are complemented extremely well by composer Jakes Bejoy's powerful background score, and we can expect him to deliver the background score and the songs in the film upon its release. Dulquer Salmaan's King of Kotha marks Zee Studios' debut in Malayalam cinema and the hit production banner sure has a strong film in their hands to hit the bullseye.
