A film that the entire nation is waiting with bated breath is the 'Rocking Star' Yash starrer K. G. F: Chapter 2, the sequel to the 2018 blockbuster, K. G. F: Chapter 1. Directed by Prashanth Neel and being produced under Vijay Kiragandur’s Hombale Films banner, KGF: Chapter 2 featuring music by Ravi Basrur wrapped up filming a while back, with an electrifying teaser for the film being released sometime back, which has since received a staggering feedback. With post-production works currently underway at breakneck speed, fans have been waiting for a word on when the film will come out in theatres, with the makers now dropping the much-awaited update.

Taking to their social media pages, Hombale Films on Friday announced that KGF: Chapter 2 will be releasing in theatres worldwide on July 16, 2021. The news of the period action drama coming out as a July release will no doubt come as a big delight considering the pandemic had spoiled the plans of fans' celebrations after the film was initially announced to hit screens in October last year. KGF 2 will see Yash reprising his role as Raja Krishnappa Bairya aka. Rocky and many will be looking forward to witnessing him in action after his antics in the first film skyrocketed his fan following across the country. KGF: Chapter 1 became the highest-grossing film in Kannada cinema history, while also turning out to be an astounding success on Amazon Prime Video OTT platform, which brought the film to audiences around the world. 

KGF 2 will see Yash's Rocky squaring off against the Adheera character that was teased in the first film, with veteran Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt cast in the role. As with the original film, the sequel too will be dubbed in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam languages, thereby giving fans the opportunity this time to watch it in theatres with bigger expectations than when they had for the previous venture. Actress Srinidhi Shetty is reprising her role as well as the female lead in KGF: Chapter 2, with Malavika Avinash, Anant Nag, Archana Jois, Vasishta N Simha, Avinash BS, Achyuth Kumar, Balakrishna returning to their original roles, while Prakash Raj, Raveena Tandon, Saran Shakthi are the new big additions to the cast.
