Keen to act in good films: Saranya

Saranya, blessed with an endearing smile and a girl-next-door looks, is climbing the ladder of success ever since she appeared in Yaaradi Nee Mohini. Saranya now has a number of offers in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.

Shedding the sister image in Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu, Saranya declined around 10 films. The reason? Her decision of refusing glamorous and sister-oriented roles. When asked about Arumugam and Eeram, where she has donned sister roles, Saranya said she had committed those before VKK.

Instead of sticking to one language, this charmer is happy to dabble in many languages. Having finished a Telugu movie with veteran artiste Krishna – Saranya appearing in the role of a medico – the actress has also completed Chemistry in Malayalam.

“It is the interesting character of a girl getting back to her roots after a two-year stint in America,” said Saranya, thrilled at the prospect of a role with different shades.

Shunning glamour is a conscious decision, says Saranya. “Now I have an image which is to be protected. The audience has accepted me so far, which is an indication that they see me as one among them. An artiste could not aspire for more,” said Saranya with a maturity belying her years.
