Karthika: No bikinis please
Karthika, who debuted with Karuvapaiyya, is not exactly your demure, traditional actress. Since her debut, she has upped the glamour, but she insists there is a line she draws when it comes to dressing provocatively. “I am not interested in accepting roles that are too glamourous. I want roles that will show my acting skills. I have certain restrictions when it comes to dressing glamourously. I refuse to appear in a bikini or any kind of swimwear. That kind of exposure is not needed to win over the audience. It’s one’s acting skills,” asserts the actress.
Two of her movies will hit the screens this week: Madurai Sambavam and Vaithegi. “There’s been a long break since my last release. I was upset over that, but now I’m so happy that two of my movies are releasing simultaneously. I play a village girl in both movies, wearing only traditional clothes. But the stories are very different, and I’m sure my performances will be appreciated,” she adds with a smile.
