National Award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut on Friday hailed the Bombay High Court's verdict against the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) for demolishing her office bungalow in Mumbai in September. "When individual stands against the government and wins, it’s not the victory of the individual but it’s the victory of the democracy. Thank you everyone who gave me courage and thanks to those who laughed at my broken dreams. Its only cause you play a villain so I can be a HERO.", she tweeted earlier in the day.

The Bombay HC ordered the BMC on Friday to compensate Kangana for the damages that were caused to her Pali Hill office after complete and proper evaluation. The HC in its ruling today stated that the demolition of a part of actress' office in a bungalow by Mumbai's civic body is "is nothing but malice in law". In her petition, Kangana alleged that the BMC's action against her was as a result of her comments against the Maharashtra government, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and the ruling Shiv Sena.

In that light, Kangana Ranaut has now appeared on video from the shooting spot of her upcoming film Thalaivi, the biopic of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha, to hail and express her gratitude to the Bombay High Court for its verdict in her favour. Currently filming for Thalaivi in Hyderabad, Kangana states that this is a victory for democracy, while also thanking her fans and friends for giving her courage during the testing times.
