One of the most looked-forward to movies of recent times is the upcoming biggie Indian 2. This sequel to the 1996 blockbuster Indian, is bringing together Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and ace director Shankar after a gap of over 20 years. Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, this magnum opus will bring back the iconic Senapathy to the big screens. The ensemble cast of this movie includes Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Nedumudi Venu, Bobby Simha, Delhi Ganesh, Vivekh and a number of other actors. The movie went on floors in January this year but faced some unfortunate delays due to various reasons. However, shoot resumed in full tilt in August and some important sequences have been canned since.
After this, Kamal Haasan took a break from Indian 2's shoot in November and also underwent surgery for a medical condition. We had also earlier reported that Kamal Haasan will resume shooting for Indian 2 from January 5th. However, this has not deterred the Indian 2 team from shooting portions of other artistes. Our sources close to the movie's team inform us that the shoot is currently happening in Chennai. With Kajal Aggarwal away in Maldives on vacation and set to join the shoot along with Kamal in January, the unit is currently filming actor Vivekh's sequences in combination with other actors. This leads us to comprehend that the veteran actor has quite a meaty portion in this movie, which will mark the first ever collaboration between him and Kamal Haasan.
Rockstar Anirudh is scoring the music for Indian 2, which has Rathnavelu handling the camera and Sreekar Prasad taking care of the editing. It looks like the Indian 2 team is ensuring no time is lost and preparing to get all other scenes done before Kamal rejoins the unit. Recently, it came to light that Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi and RJ Balaji were approached to play roles in Indian 2 but could not take up the offer due to prior commitments. Stay tuned for updates...
