A small pooja ceremony of Vijay 61 held in Chennai recently and the shooting went on floors. The film will be shot in Chennai, North India, US and Europe. The film is reuniting Vijay with director Atlee after the superhit Theri. Made on a whopping budget of Rs 100 Cr, the team has already finalised Vijay's Thupakki co-star Kajal Aggarwal as the leading lady. AR Rahman is the music director. The film also has a stupendous star cast which includes Samantha, SJ Suryah, Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, and Sathyan. GK Vishnu is the cinematographer, editing by Rubens, art by Muthuraj and stunt Anal Arasu. The latest is that actress Jyothika has walked out of the project citing date issues. A suitable replacement is likely to be announced soon.
Producer Sri Thenandal Films has officially announced the news and interestingly, this is their landmark 100th film. Baahubali writer Vijendra Prasad has penned the script, which is touted to be a perfect family entertainer with equal dose of action and romance.
