Jet Li of Kollywood: Vijay Chiranjeevi
Hong Kong is the master when it comes to martial-arts-based action films. Films from Hong Kong feature real martial artists or trained professionals like Jet Li, Jackie Chan and Stephen Chow. Now, with film stunt choreographer Jaguar Thangam introducing his son into movies, it looks like Kollywood would pose a very big challenge to Hong Kong in this field.
The film is almost ready; its audio and trailer will be launched on June 6, 2008. The beautifully-done invitation for this function serves as a curtain-raiser of the film. But the most striking thing about it is Vijay Chiranjeevi, Jaguar Thangam’s son. The poses he has struck in the pictures on the invitation are breathtaking. When one sees these pictures, it would force them to agree that he is indeed the Jet Li of Kollywood. The poses speak volumes about the years of hard work this well-built man has done, for they demand incredible agility and strength. One glimpse of this invitation itself will convince any action film aficionado that a new trend is about to start in Kollywood – Kollywood Kung Fu Films.
The function on June 6, 2008 at 6.00 p.m. will be presided over by Ramanarayanan, K.R.G. and stunt choreographers of Kollywood.
The film is produced by Shanthi Jaguar Thangam. Music is by Jerome Pushparaj and lyrics are by Pa. Vijay. R.H. Ashok is the cameraman and Suresh Rajan is the editor. The film is rich with action and will definitely be a trend-setter.
