Sarathi, also popularly known as Kadali Jaya Sarathi passed away on Monday morning (August 1) at the ripe old age of 80 due to kidney ailments at a hospital in Hyderabad. He was a prolific Indian comedic actor and producer in the Telugu film industry. As per reports, Sarathi breathed his last at 2:30 am after being treated at Citi neuro center hospital for the past month with kidney problems. The last rites were held the very same day at 1 PM in Maha Prasthanam. After hearing the news of his death, many film celebrities are expressing their condolences. 

Apart from being an actor, Sarathi was also a producer. He has produced a few movies like harmatmadu, Aggiraju, Sri Rama Chandradu, Vidhata’ with Rebel Star Krishnam Raju. He has a special connection with the Krishnamraju family.  He worked as a technical assistant for many movies produced by Krishnamraju on Gopi Krishna Movies. He was also a founder member of Movie Artistes Association (MAA).

Sarathi made his silver screen debut in 1960 with Sitarama Kalyanam. He acted as Nalakubaru in that film. He played comedy roles in many movies and got the appreciation of the audience. He acted in about 372 Telugu movies. He was active in moving the Telugu film industry from Madras to Hyderabad. His most notable roles are in Manavuri Pandavulu, Bobilli Brahmanna, Driver Ramudu, Bakta Kannappa and Jaganmohini.
