2018's Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu directed by Hara Hara Mahadevaki fame Santhosh P. Jayakumar and starring Gautham Karthik, Yashika Aannand, Vaibhavi Shandilya, Chandrika Ravi and Shah Ra turned out to be a box office success. Post the release, Santhosh announced that he would be making his debut as a hero in the adult horror comedy entertainer's sequel titled Irandam Kuththu, which hit theatres this Diwali.

IAMK 2, as it is also being called, has been produced by Hari Bhaskaran's Flying Horse Pictures and also includes Karishma Kaul, Akrithi Singh, Meenal Sahu playing the female leads, followed by Daniel Annie Pope, Rajendiran, Ravi Maria, Chaams, TSK, Singam Puli, Swaminathan, Shalu Shamu among others in important supporting roles. With the film now out in theatres, the makers are continuing to promote the film with a number of promos. In that light, the much-awaited 'Boom Boom' official video song from Irandam Kuththu featured on Santhosh P. Jayakumar, Daniel Annie Pope and Meenal Sahu has now been released. Composed and sung by S.N.Prasad, the song has lyrics penned by Srikanth Varadan, with the film's background score done by Dharan Kumar. 

Irandam Kuththu has seen a strong youth audience heading to the theatres across Tamil Nadu despite the film not being well-received critically. The film incidentally holds the distinction of being the first Tamil film to be released in theatres across Tamil Nadu after the nationwide lockdown, which forced operations of cinema halls to be suspended. IAMK 2 has been mired in a lot of controversy, with the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court a couple of days before the film's theatrical release ordering for the film's teaser to be removed from all social media platforms. Despite this, director Santhosh P. Jayakumar, who was queried by a fan on Twitter recently post the release of the film whether there would be a third installment, went on to reveal that there indeed are plans for another part and will be in 2022. As of now, no further details have been made known on Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu 3 or IAMK 3 as it is being called, with the star cast Santhosh P. Jayakumar chooses for the next remains to be seen.
