Time couldn't be any better for Silamabarasan TR fans than now as they are being treated to various updates from the multi-talented star' upcoming films. All set for a grand Pongal 2021 entry with his rural action family entertainer Eeswaran, Simbu had finished the film in quick time in less than a span of 45 days, while also completing dubbing for his portions before heading to Pondicherry a couple of weeks back to resume work on his Maanaadu with director Venkat Prabhu. Billed to be a mass masala political action entertainer being produced by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Productions and featuring music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the makers have now finally released STR's mass Maanaadu first look poster. Check it out below:

Simbu's Maanaadu has been a highly-exciting project for fans as he will be seen playing the role of a Muslim for the first time in his career. The film had begun production prior to the nationwide lockdown, with STR's character's name in the film revealed to be Abdul Khaaliq. The project was announced in mid-2018, but took time to flag off and went on floors in February earlier this year. This will be the second time Silambarasan is working with Venkat Prabhu after he appeared in a cameo in the 2010 hit Goa

Maanaadu has been carrying tremendous hype and expectations right from the day it was announced as fans have been wanting to witness Simbu in a full-out political film. Another major USP in the film is the addition of composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, who has been a pillar for both STR and Venkat Prabhu's films over the years and is once expected to deliver chart-buster songs once again. Maanaadu is a multi-starrer and includes Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the female lead, followed by SJ Suryah, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Manoj Bharathiraja, Daniel Annie Pope, Y. Gee. Mahendra and veteran directors SA Chandrasekhar and Bharathiraja in major supporting roles. It is to be noted that Chennai 600028 II Innings actress Anjena Kriti is also a part of the film and had shot a song before the lockdown.

The film also has a talented technical crew among whom are Richard M. Nathan for the cinematography, Praveen K. L. for the editing, Rajeevan for the production design, action choreography by 'Stunt' Silva and costume designs by Vasuki Bhaskar. Production on Maanaadu is currently being supervised by Siddha specialist Dr. Veerababu in order to monitor the COVID-19 situation. The makers have taken all necessary precautions for the entire team and are carrying out the shooting as per the government's protocols.
