As we know, this unexpected global pandemic has made a lot of notable producers and filmmakers to release their films directly on digital streaming platforms. Suriya's Soorarai Pottru, Nani's V, and Amitabh Bachchan - Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Gulabo Sitabo are some of the big league films that made it to the OTT platforms without a theatrical release. Having said that, it was recently speculated by a section of media that Salman Khan's next biggie, Radhe would have a direct OTT release on a leading streaming platform.

This made the fans worried and confused as Radhe is a film that is meant to be viewed in a theatre. To clear the air, the makers of Radhe labeled the rumours to be baseless and confirmed that the film will release only in the theatres. The current plan is to release the film in the theatres for next year's Eid festival, on July 21.

Popular film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#RADHE #OTT RUMOURS BASELESS... There was speculation in the *exhibition sector* that #Radhe - starring #SalmanKhan - will skip theatrical release... Will stream on #OTT directly... FALSE... The producers are clear, #Radhe will release in *cinemas*, eyes #Eid2021 release." However, a final decision will be taken only when there is more clarity about the Covid 19 vaccines and the safety of the audiences. Though the theatres have reopened, it might not be possible for big league films to earn revenue with 50% occupancy and hence, most of them would wait for the situation to get better.

Radhe is directed by Prabhu Deva and this film marks the third collaboration of Salman Khan and Prabhu Deva after Wanted and Dabangg 3. The shooting of Radhe was wrapped up last month amidst the pandemic and the full shoot happened as per the Covid 19 protocols. Produced by Sohail Khan, Atul Agnihotri, and Salman Khan, this stylish action thriller features Disha Patani as the female lead. Jackie Shroff, Bharath, Megha Akash, Randeep Hooda, Zarina Wahab, Gautam Gulati play supporting roles. The film has been shot by cinematographer Ayananka Bose.

The makers are currently busy with the post-production works of the film. The fans are eagerly looking forward to the release of the film. On the personal front, Salman Khan and his family members have isolated themselves as their staff members tested positive for Coronavirus recently. Fortunately, Salman and his family members were tested negative for Covid-19.
