IFFI to begin on November 23

Universal Star Kamal Haasan's movies will not be part of the retrospective section in the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) scheduled to begin at Goa on November 23. But the good news is that IFFI has decided to hold a retrospective of Kamal Haasan's films in February 2010 at Delhi.

The films of legends who have completed 50 years in Indian cinema to be shown at the Goan festival includes Soumitra Chatterjee, Sharmila Tagore and Asha Parekh.

The 10-day festival at Goa will have a slice of Latin American and European films too. 45 countries be represented by 55 films in the 'Cinema of the World' section.

Some of the important movies to be premiered at the festival are: Shahrukh Bola Khubsurat Hai and Red Alert (both Hindi) and Vimuki (Kannada).

In a first of its kind, documentaries on eminent musicians made by the Films Division�(Mohammad Rafi, Manna Dey, Ustad Alauddin Khan and Bhimsen Joshi) will be a special feature of the festival.

The competition section has 13 films from all over the world, including of the two Indian films.��

In the Tributes Section, movies of late film makers Shakti Samanta and Prakash Mehra are to be shown alongside those of lyricist Gulshan Bawra and actor-director Feroz Khan.
