Happy Birthday Radhikaa!
She made her debut as a cute bubbly youngster in Kizhakkey Pogum Rail and now she has come a long way from that, making the best out of the worst in all situations. Yes, we are talking about actress Radhikaa (also spelt Radikaa)! Spelling success along her way, she redefined the mega serials where women do not just sob over their woes and worries, but who look beyond the problem for a solution.
Radhikaa was discovered by veteran Tamil director Bharathi Raaja when she was 15 years old. She has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi as well as Malayalam films. She is the founder of Radaan Mediaworks, which has produced the successful serials Chithi, Annamalai, Selvi, Arasi, and Idi Katha Kadu (Telugu). She is currently acting in the serial Chellamay for Sun TV.
Some memorable Radhikaa starrers (in Tamil) include Kizhake Pogum Rayil, Indru Poi Naalai Vaa, Pokkiri Raja, Ranga, Moondru Mugam, Thavani Kanavugal, Paer Sollum Pillai, Irattaivaal Kuruvi, Keladi Kanmani, Kizhakku Seemaiyile, Pavithra, Suryavamsam, Jeans, Roja Kootam.
Although her brother (Radharavi) and father (M.R. Radha) were respected actors in the movie biz, Radhikaa was a reluctant debutante when she starred in Bharathi Raaja’s Kizhake Pogum Rayil. In spite of her initial apprehension, she continued and bloomed in the field that claimed her. From one movie to the next, Radhikaa showed radical improvement in terms of performance, hard work and dedication. In a matter of a few years, she evolved into an actress to reckon with. With an amazing screen presence and a powerful persona, she is an actress who can intimidate even the most skilled veterans. Her media house has even produced a handful of movies, including Sarathkumar’s Jaggubai.
