Dhananjayan Govind fondly known as GD, who heads the business of UTV Motion pictures in the South, celebrates his birthday today. Birthday wishes have been pouring in for him on his twitter and FB profiles from all his friends in the film fraternity. Having co-founded Moser Baer Eentertainment, he entered the field of movie production and produced various films in Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam for a period of 2 years. After that, GD joined UTV and continued his production venture by producing and marketing movies such as Deiivathirumagal, Mugamoodi and Vettai. He has made significant contributions to the film industry by providing DVDs and VCDs at cheaper prices to reduce piracy. He wrote a book about Tamil cinema titled "The Best of Tamil cinema: 1931 to 2010". He also writes for various publications and film magazines which are widely read.
