Goverdhana Murthy apprehended
Producer Goverdhana Murthy, who was wanted by the police for the murder of actor Vinod Kumar, has been apprehended by the Bangalore Police yesterday. He had fled the scene of crime right after the killing and was absconding in Kerala for the past couple of days. Murthy has been arrested and kept in remand for further investigation. The police said that Murthy was making plans to escape to Dubai.
While questioning, Murthy told the police that he had shot Vinod Kumar while in an inebriated condition. The shootout happened in a farm house where a party was in progress. It is suspected that the party was held to reach an agreement regarding a land deal. Both Goverdhana Murthy and Vinod Kumar were in the real estate business.
Dinesh, Srinivas and Prabhakar, employees of Goverdhana Murthy, who left the place after the shooting were also caught by the police. The search continues for Tripathi, Ramesh and three others who witnessed the murder.
