Silambarasan TR and Gautham Karthik will be starring together in Pathu Thala, the official remake of the critically acclaimed Kannada film, Mufti. Silambarasan TR will be reprising the role played by Shiva Rajkumar (as the underground don), while Gautham Karthik will be essaying the role played by Sriimurali (as a police officer) in the original. The latest exciting update is that the shooting of the film will begin from today (August 26) and the makers will begin shooting the scenes featuring Gautham Karthik for the first few days. Gautham Karthik took to his official Twitter page to share this update and he seemed all excited about the project. Sharing a picture of him, Gautham Karthik tweeted, "A New Beginning, The start of a journey that I've spent a long time waiting for. #Day1 #PathuThala".

Pathu Thala will be directed by Obeli N Krishna, who is known for directing movies like Sillunu Oru Kaadhal and Nedunchaalai. The film will be produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under the banner of Studio Green. The highlight aspect of Pathu Thala is that it will have music scored by A.R.Rahman and it is going to be interesting to see what the legendary composer has in store for this film. Following the humongous success of Sillunu Oru Kaadhal, director Krishna and A.R.Rahman are coming together for this film. Priya Bhavani Shankar will be playing the female lead in this film and she will be seen as the pair of Gautham Karthik.

Going by the original version, Silambarasan TR's character does not have a pair, but we are yet to know if there are any changes that have been made to the Tamil version. Details regarding Simbu's shoot plans for the film are also yet to be known. Popular musician and singer Teejay Arunasalam who made his debut as an actor with Dhanush's Asuran will be seen playing a crucial role in Pathu Thala.
