Leading Tamil actor Silambarasan TR has been in the headlines once again over the past few days in regard to the red card controversy after popular film producer S. Michael Rayappan complained to the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC). In his complaint, Michael Rayappan claimed that he suffered losses of Rs 2 crores after Simbu failed to take part in the shooting of Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan released in 2017. Recently, STR's mother Usha Rajendran too spoke about the issue during a press conference, while also lashing out against the then TFPC President, Vishal.

In that light, the Tamil Film Producers Council released a statement on Thursday stating that the red card issued to Simbu has been dismissed, while also assuring that they will cooperate with Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) for the shooting of his upcoming film, Vendhu Thaninthathu Kaadu, being directed by Gautham Menon's under producer Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh Vels Film International banner. With the first schedule of Vendhu Thaninthathu Kaadu already wrapped and the next leg of filming set to kick off soon, this latest news of the red card against STR being lifted will no doubt come as a major relief for the actor, while also serving as a joyous news for his ardent fans everywhere.

Silambarasan, who is currently working on Vendhu Thaninthathu Kaadu, awaits the release of Venkat Prabhu's mass masala action political entertainer, Maanaadu, and the Hansika-starrer Maha, in which he will be seen in an extended cameo as a pilot. Furthermore, STR is also set to start work on the much-awaited Pathu Thala under Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame Krishna's direction, with the film also starring Gautham Karthik and Priya Bhavani Shankar and featuring music by Academy Award-winning music composer A. R. Rahman.
