Though his debut film Kadal, helmed by Mani Ratnam received mixed reviews, Gautham Karthik's performance was applauded! While a lot of buzz is going on about what the actor's next would be, the latest is that he has been roped in to play the lead in the remake of a Telugu film Ala Modalaindi, which featured Nani and Nithya Menen in the lead.

The yet-to-be titled film will be helmed by Ravi Thyagarajan, and produced under Ravi Prasad Productions. The shooting is expected to kickstart soon in places like Mysore and Hyderabad.
