Forrest Gump is the 6 Academy Awards winning movie, adapted from the novel of the same name, starring Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Gary Sinise, Michael T. Williamson and Sally Field. It was said that the movie will be remade in Hindi with Aamir Khan reprising Tom Hank's role. The rumors were doing rounds on the internet that Kareen Kapoor Khan will be the female lead of the film. And it was officially announced by Viacom 18 Studios that she's indeed featuring in the movie. The remake is titled as Laal Singh Chaddha. Check out the tweet!

Laal Singh Chaddha will be directed by "Secret Superstar" fame Advait Chandan, that also featured Aamir Khan. This is the third time Kareen Kapoor Khan and Aamir Khan are coming together after Talaash and 3 Idiots. Laal Singh Chaddha is written by the writer/ director Atul Kulkarni and is slated to release on Christmas, 2020.

The movie will be backed by Viacom18 Studios and Aamir Khan Productions. In a recent conversation with a popular daily, Andrew Gumpert, the COO of Paramount Pictures, the makers of Forrest Gump said, "We’re thrilled to be in business with Aamir Khan Productions and Viacom18 Studios, and to see them bringing this timeless story to a whole new generation of audiences."
