Recently, pirated CDs of Suriya's 24 were caught and after an analysis, the makers found out the the film was recorded at a theatre screen in Bangalore. Even GV Prakash's latest release Pencil has been hit by the piracy bug. So, actor Vishal approached the producer council with this issue representing the Nadigar Sangam but he was disappointed. The producer council failed to take any action or give a valid explanation.

Actor Vishal took to twitter expressing that he will not give up. He wrote. "Baffled n puzzled y #dhanu sir pres of prod council doesn't wanna take action on concernd theatres caught regd piracy.but Wil nt stop dis fite against piracy. Wil continue til v get justice.hope the prod council comes wit an explanation regd this pathetic state."
