Father-son duo K. Bhagyaraj and Shanthanu team up for a new film

Iconic Tamil filmmaker and actor K. Bhagyaraj has worked with several top-ranking stars across the nation among whom include Amitabh Bachchan, 'Superstar' Rajinikanth and many others. Having collaborated with notable names in Indian cinema, K. Bhagyaraj worked with his son, Shanthanu, twice and by directing him on both occasions starting with Vettiya Madichu Kattu in 1998 in which the latter had been seen as a child artiste and Siddhu +2 in 2010, which also saw the reputed veteran make a cameo appearance. Having said that, it has now been officially announced that K. Bhagyaraj and his son Shanthanu will be starring alongside each other in an upcoming untitled film to be directed by Sreejar under producer Ravindar Chandrasekhar's Libra Productions banner.

The yet-to-be-titled venture has actress Athulya Ravi playing the female lead opposite Shanthanu with the supporting cast also featuring names like Yogi Babu, Madhumitha, Reshma, Mayilswamy, Anandaraj, Manobala, Mottai Rajendran and Prank Rahul with music being composed by Dharan. Apart from Ravindar Chandrasekhar's Libra Productions, the film will also be bankrolled by Saravanapriyan and Sivasubramanian of First Man Film Works with cinematography by Ramesh Chakravarthy and editing by Jomin Mathew.

The father-son duo combination of K. Bhagyaraj and Shanthanu will be a big USP for the film considering such partnerships cater to the family audiences more. As for Shanthanu, he has been on a roll of late having been seen in Mani Ratnam's production venture, Vaanam Kottattum, and has in line next the biggie, Master, alongside 'Thalapathy' Vijay and 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi under Lokesh Kanagaraj's direction while also being cast in Raavana Koottam and the Chimbudeven multi-starrer, Kasada Thapara.
