In a surprising announcement, India’s one of the largest content providers Eros is going to sell the movie rights they hold and the related services to technology giants from the United States.

Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Apple are going to acquire the homegrown Eros International in a huge deal worth about $1 Billion. The three companies are said to jointly acquire over 3,000 films owned by Eros and it will be shared based on the agreement they have signed.

The purchase will also make it a great deal for Prime Video customers who are plenty because of the cheap yearly subscription costs while Netflix will have more Indian films to check out. Apple doesn’t have such a strong presence in Indian streaming platform so far but may develop in time.
