Director Cheran is one of the contestants in the third season of Bigg Boss, who is right now inside the house. He recently had a tussle with actor Saravanan and things turned ugly when the Paruthiveeran actor started to speak low of him. Cheran was seen very disappointed after hearing those comments and remained silent for a long time. Cheran was also wrongly criticised by Meera Mithun a few weeks back. Cheran is someone who is said to be positive and calm inside the house, and he owns a great fan base outside. Cheran has now fetched a support from his family of directors.

Vasantabalan, the director of acclaimed films like Veyil, Angadi Theru, and the upcoming GV Prakash starrer Jail, took to his Facebook page to share a message about Cheran. Vasantabalan stated that he wants Cheran to be out of the Bigg Boss house since the housemates do not realise the importance and the nature of his character. Vasantabalan also shared that Cheran's works were considered to be classics and he was even compared to the stature of filmmakers like Bharathiraja and Balu Mahendra.

The Aravaan director added that the housemates don't realize his worth and felt that he should be out of the house and do more films that respect the art of cinema with a poetic touch. Vasantabalan's post received a positive reception from the fans and followers who shared that they also feel the same about it.
