The director of the re-released movie Ven-Gayam, Sankagiri Rajkumar has thanked the print and television media, for their support. His movie Ven-Gayam, has crossed 75 days in theatres, and acknowledging that it has been replaced at theatres in the cities, he states that it is still going strong in the rural regions. Talking about the days he was hunting for chances in Chennai, and how he would starve himself for lack of finances, Rajkumar states that he has planned to open a restaurant in Vadapalani, for all the Tamil cinema aspirants. The director states that he doesn't want others like him to starve themselves, and is planning to offer food at the rate of a coffee, at this new restaurant.
 
Rajkumar has revealed that even before making his first movie, he had decided to use its revenue to start this hotel, and that he does not have any idea of making any profits from this venture. In his address to the media, Sankagiri Rajkumar was effuse in his praise for director Cheran, and expressed his heartfelt thanks to him for his help.
