National Award-winning actor Dhanush has been one of the most consistent performers and has delivered memorable films in recent times, with his Asuran released last year turning out to be one of the biggest successes in his illustrious career. All set to be seen next in the much-awaited Jagame Thandhiram under Karthik Subbaraj's direction and Maari Selvaraj's Karnan, the actor has a highly exciting film lineup ahead which includes a film with Ratsasan director Ram Kumar being produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, Vetri Maaran's project under Elred Kumar's RS Infotainment banner, a Sun Pictures film under Mithran Jawahar's direction and a venture with his brother Selvaraghavan currently in pre-production stages. He will also be seen in the highly-anticipated Hindi film, Atrangi Re, which includes Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and Sara Ali Khan in the lead roles.

Being directed by Aanand L Rai with a screenplay by Himanshu Sharma, Atrangi Re rolled into production earlier this year in Varanasi in March before the shooting was brought to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic crisis. Filming resumed earlier this week after a 6-month hiatus and this time in Karaikudi, with the schedule expected to last for a period of more than 10 days. Having said that, images of Dhanush from the Atrangi Re set in Karaikudi show the star in traditional Tamil Nadu attire, which has been earning a tremendous response from fans on social media. The actor sporting a stubble and clad in white veshti-shirt combo is a hit online, with the pictures going viral. Although it is unknown whether Akshay Kumar will be joining the current leg of filming, actress Dimple Hayathi has been reported to be a part of the film and had shot for a dance sequence with Dhanush.

Atrangi Re is one of the biggest and most exciting films in production right now as it includes music by Academy Award-winning music composer A. R. Rahman. Announced earlier to come out as a 2021 Valentine's Day release, it remains to be seen whether the makers of the film, T-Series, Colour Yellow Productions and Cape of Good Films, complete the film considering a lot of time has already been lost due to the COVID-19 crisis. Incidentally, Atrangi Re is Dhanush's second collaboration with Aanand L. Rai, who introduced him in Bollywood with the smash hit, Raanjhanaa, in 2013.
