Daniel Radcliffe battles dyspraxia

Dyspraxia is a condition that leads to problems in coordination. And Daniel Radcliffe, the hero wizard in Harry Potter movies, has confessed that he suffers from the disorder. Daniel had a tough time at school because of his condition and he turned to acting to boost his morale. He says, "I was having a hard time at school in terms of being bad at everything, with no discernible talent."

Daniel's mum was not for her son becoming an actor, but finally agreed to let him audition for a role in the BBC adaptation of David Copperfield, which he landed. Daniel admits that playing the part helped push himself further, leading him to the title role in the hugely successful Hogwarts franchise at age 11 in 2001.

Daniel is 19 now and has largely overcome the troubles of dyspraxia but there are a few day-to-day things that he still hasn’t mastered – like tying his own shoelaces, for instance. "I sometimes think, 'Why, oh why, has Velcro not taken off?' " he quips.
