For the first time in 22 years, an intensified storm is making its way towards Chennai. High intense rains and winds are predicted. The cyclone has literally emptied the streets of Chennai as people chose to stay indoors. Windspeed up to 100 kmph, rainfall around 20 cm and sea waves rising to at least a meter are expected today. The cyclone is expected to land today afternoon in Chennai. The windspeed is likely to get intensified further.
