Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary K Shanmugam stated that PM Modi had earlier today held a video conference with the Chief Ministers of all states including Tamil Nadu CM Edappadi Palaniswami, who had suggested that emphasis needs to be laid on continuing the lockdown and that it shouldn't be regulated to specific Indian states, but the entire nation.

The Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary K. Shanmugam also added that 58 people have tested positive for COVID-19 today with one person from Erode succumbing to death taking the total to 10 in the state. PM Modi has given advice to the Chief Ministers of all states to make the public aware of the Aarogya Setu mobile app to help in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. Various quarantine and containment measure strategies have also been discussed including the affected areas housing the infected persons be differentiated into green, yellow and orange zones, to better identify and administer appropriate medical care.
