One film that has had fans hooked with tremendous expectations right from the moment of its announcement, National Award-winning actor Vikram's Cobra recently had an action-packed intriguing teaser released, which received a staggering response. Billed to be on the lines of a raw and intense thriller with espionage elements, director Ajay Gnanamuthu of Demonte Colony and Imaikkaa Nodigal fame has joined hands with producer Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studios, with the film also including Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman for the music.

The Cobra team, which had been shooting in Russia, returned to Chennai on Saturday, with Ajay Gnanamiuthu posting a group picture of himself along with his team from the Chennai International Airport. Taking to his Instagram Story, Ajay said, "In spite of all the difficulties this team never gave up", while informing that the entire filming process was possible because of the "teamwork". With the shooting now completed, the next step will be the post-production works of the film, with a plan to release in theatres later this year. Cobra will once again see Vikram in multiple avatars as was shown in the film's teaser, which has raised the interest among the actor's fans who are expecting yet another memorable performance. Director Ajay Gnanamuthu too has on a frequent basis kept fans informed that the film will live up to the wait and all sights are now set for the team to deliver a cracker of an entertainer.

After filming came to a halt last year due to the pandemic, which shut down film production work around the world, the shooting on Cobra resumed once again in December, with a still of Vikram surrounded in the midst of heavy military-range weapons raising more curiosity for the film. Fans have an additional reason to celebrate Cobra as it also includes former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan making his acting debut, with his character named Aslan Yilmaz, a French Interpol Officer, who was teased aplenty in the teaser that came out. Another major highlight is Academy Award-winner's A. R. Rahman's music, with the first single track titled 'Thumbi Thullal' receiving a stunning feedback, and many recollecting his work in the song to his music from the 90s.

Apart from Vikram and Irfan Pathan in the Cobra cast, the film will see KGF heroine Srinidhi Shetty making her Tamil cinema debut, with Miya George, Super Deluxe fame Mirnalini Ravi, Roshan Matthew, Anandaraj, KS Ravikumar and others in pivotal roles, with the technical crew featuring debutant Harish Kannan for the cinematography, editing by Bhuvan Srinivasan and stunt choreography by Dhilip Subbarayan.
