Chithra resumes singing

Legendary singer K.S. Chitha, who sang over 15,000 songs and won numerous awards including six National Film Awards and five Filmfare Awards, took a break after the tragic death of her only child Nandana in a swimming pool accident in Dubai in April.

According to sources, she is now back and recently rendered her voice a song for a Malayalam film titled Istham + Sneham = Amma. The recording took place in a Chennai studio. Composed by music director and famous singer M.G. Sreekumar, the song was about a mother’s love for her daughter and Chithra was reportedly in tears as she sang it.

Singer-actress Mamta Mohandas, who heard the song, later tweeted: "Heard a few lines of the new song Chitra chechi's recorded. A lullaby that goes 'Amma'.Can't think of the emotions she would have fought while singing it."
