The central government has announced recently that all regional films, be it Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada among other languages should either be dubbed in Hindi for release or have Hindi subtitles so that other state residents could understand it.

The rule doesn’t favor any regional filmmakers because the movies made are catered to specific cultures. It is to be seen how the government plans to impose this rule because people are not going to watch any of the Hindi subtitled local films in Tamil Nadu or Andhra Pradesh. It may be confined only to Northern states which can be confirmed only when more details are shared.
