Care of Footpath at SAIFF

Aron Govil Productions's Care of Footpath, directed by National award winning director Master Kishan Shrikanth, who entered the Guinness book of records for being the youngest filmmaker, will be screened at the South Asian International Film Festival (SAIFF) to be held in New York from October 28 to November 3.

The child actor-turned-director won dozens of awards for his debut venture Care of Footpath, including the Swarna Kamal and the National Award for Best Children’s Film. Kishan wrote the story and screenplay, and also played the lead role in the film, which was originally made in Kannada, then released in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.

Starring Jackie Shroff, Saurabh Shukla and Taara, it is the story of an orphan slum boy, adopted by an old lady who finds him on a footpath. He lives with her in the slums, where he makes a living picking up rags. Some school students call him an uneducated brute, which gives him the impetus to get educated. The story tells how heovercomeshis challenging circumstances to get an education.
