Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj, on Tuesday, October 24, announced on social media that he sustained a minor injury during the promotions for his latest film, Leo, starring 'Thalapathy' Vijay, in Palakkad, Kerala. The blockbuster director posted a photo of himself taking a selfie from the balcony of the Aroma Theatre while being surrounded by fans and thousands more seen in the background amidst grand celebrations. Sharing the picture of his selfie with fans from the Leo promotions, Lokesh Kanagaraj wrote in his post on X, "Thank you Kerala for your love.. Overwhelmed, happy and grateful to see you all in Palakkad.❤️" (sic)

Lokesh Kanagaraj further went on to say, "Due to a small injury in the crowd, I couldn’t make it to the other two venues and the press meeting. I would certainly come back to meet you all in Kerala again soon. Till then continue enjoying #Leo with the same love. 🤗" (sic) This latest statement from the Vikram director about getting injured during the Leo promotions in Kerala has come as a shock to his ardent fans everywhere, who are sending him wishes for a speedy recovery, and will be hoping for him to get back in action soon in the days ahead. Leo's Kerala distributor has revealed that the director's injury happened due to the rush at the Aroma Theatre in Palakkad, with his visit to the Ragam Theatre in Thrissur and Kavitha Theatre in Ernakulam later in the day canceled. Furthermore, the Maanagaram director was scheduled to take part in a press meet in the evening today, which also has now been called off on account of his injury. Lokesh Kanagaraj has surpassed all his previous directorials with Leo, which is his second outing with 'Thalapathy' Vijay after their box-office money-spinner, Master (2021). The film released in cinemas worldwide on October 19 has so far grossed 400 crores and continues to go strong everywhere, with the collections expected to go higher going forward. En route to becoming one of the biggest hits in Tamil cinema history, Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj's Leo also stars Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Gautham Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Mysskin, Priya Anand, Sandy master, Mathew Thomas, among others, with the songs and the background score composed by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander.
