Busy bee Ajmal Ameer

Remember Ajmal Ameer, the unforgettable Kripa of Anjathey? The actor, last seen in Nandhini's Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru, is gearing up for K.V. Anand's Ko which has Jiiva in the lead role. Reports state Kripa will play a prominent character with some negative shades in the film.

The actor will also play a double role in director Prabhu's (a former associate of Shankar) next.Titled Karuppanpatti, it is said that Ajmal will play the role of a father and a modern son. The film is expected to be set in the backdrop of a village and a city. Karuppanpatti is produced by Sundar; P.G. Muthaiah will wield the camera; D. Imman is the music director.

Ajmal will also team up with Sunaina in Kadhirvel, directed by Saran’s assistant Venkat. Apart from Sunaina and Ajmal, the film has one more important attraction – a new music director with a legacy: Sagar Madhav! This young and talented music directorfrom Mollywood is the son of Ravindran, who is Mollywood’s equivalent of Ilayaraja! Deciding to add some freshness to the tunes, Venkat approached Sagar who promptly accepted the offer. So, the music of Kadhirvel should be attractively different, because Sagar has a unique style and most Kollywood fans have never heard his brand of music!

Ajmal Ameeris also quite excited about his maiden international project. “Denova, which essentially means 'Ultimate Truth', is directed by a Dubai-based ad filmmaker Swabri.Basically a kind of a Latin American movie, the story is about a nuclear family, how a tragedy strikes it and how they overcomes it,” the actor said. Mumbai-based Auroshika plays the female lead.

Ajmal plays different roles – that of a person from his mid-twenties tothirties. The character evolves through the different phases and his surmounting the ordeal forms part of the story. The film will be released inmany languages, including Hindi, Arabic, Persian and Iranian.
