Bommai is the next big film of actor SJ Suryah that is set to release in theatres. The film has created huge excitement as it's helmed by director Radha Mohan who is known for making feel-good entertainers. The long-awaited film also has actress Priya Bhavani Shankar playing an important role. She plays the role of a mannequin whom the lead character played by SJ Suryah imagines as a real person. This will be the next big release for the actress this year after Jayam Ravi's Agilan, Silambarasan TR’s Pathu Thala and Raghava Lawrence's Rudhran. Bommai is set to release in theatres on June 16.
The actress Priya Bhavani Shankar sat down for an exclusive interview ahead of the release of Bommai. The actress shared some interesting details about the film. When asked about how she handled projects that are different from what she was promised. The actress said only till pre-production they could be suggestive. "When it gets to the shooting, if it changes, The best thing is to keep it off. If it changes on set the best thing is to keep off.” She then asked “Who will write a special character just for me. Tell me about a recent big commercial film that had a strong heroine.” As the anchor then pointed out Nayanthara's Aram. The actress said  “I am talking about the commercial film, that did well with a female lead in the recent past. Because they are writing the stories for a hero. That you can't keep demanding everywhere. It's great that there are movies like Aram, But, if Nayanthara had done the same film 15 years back, would you watch it in the theatre? Even now she does Rajini sir and Vijay sir films that has 5-10 days of shooting and her own films too. Just because we don't have a role in the hero's film, we cannot just keep acting without anyone, whatever is written in script in done that’s it”.
Priya Bhavani Shankar said “Nayanthara's been at the top of her game for a very long time, close to two decades. Still, she acts in Rajini sir’s films. In this film too when I accepted, I liked it and that's why I did it. But some films we will know in 10 days that it will not work then we should just detach yourself from the movie.”
