Big Cinemas to have100 more screens by 2010

Big Cinemas, a subsidiary of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (R-ADAG), which has India's largest cinema chain with a dominant network of over 213 screens spread across 66 cities, is planning to add around 100 more screens to its existing network by 2010.

With this new plan, Big Cinemas will increase its presence across 85 cities and cater to more than 35 million customers annually in India, said a company statement released on Thursday.

Big Cinemas, a division of Adlabs Films Ltd (to be renamed Reliance MediaWorks), has also announced the re-organization of its operations to expand its regional market penetration in India and to adequately support the growth momentum.

BIG Cinemas Chief Operating Officer (COO) Tushar Dhingra would focus on the company's operations in North, East and Central India. Ashish Saksena will be joining the BIG Cinemas team as COO for West and South India.
