Benjamin Button in trouble

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, starring Brad Pitt in a once-in-a-lifetime sort of a role, has earned 13 Oscar nominations and now, a lawsuit!Italian writer Adriana Pichini has filed asuit against the makers of the movie, stating that they have stolen her idea and not acknowledged her in any way.

While themakers insist that the movie is based on a 1921 short story by legendary author F. Scott Fitzgerald, Adriana claims that it is in fact based on a story of hers titled Il ritorno di Arthur all'innocenza. She says that though she registered it with the Italian copyright authorities in 1994, her book never got published. A judge will read her story, watch the movie and thendetermine whether there are enough similarities that justify her appeal, before a full-fledged investigation is carried out.
