Ashley, Julia fight child trafficking
Through a new hard-hitting documentary that releases in October, Ashley Judd and Julia Ormond have teamed up to bring to the fore underage sex trade.
The actresses spent months researching the subject and are now speaking out in an effort to put an end to this sick crime. Julia says, "We live in a world where you don't necessarily know what's going on next door... It's the fastest growing crime on the planet."
The documentary, Call + Response, boldly states that the sex slave industry made $32 billion last year and that 2.2 million children are forced into it each year. Ashley admits that the statistics had her stunned and she's now determined to make a difference: "Each and every one of us has an obligation to stop it... Human trafficking has to exist out in the open so that the demand can access the supply."
