ANR conferred doctorate again

Padma Vibhushan and Dada Saheb Phalke award winner Akkineni Nageswara Rao has been conferred an honorary doctorate by the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha in Chennai on Monday (March 28) at the 74th convocation of the institution for his contributions to South Indian cinema.

ANR received the doctorate from Justice V.S. Malimath, president and chancellor of the Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha, and CBSE Chairman Vineet Joshi. Justice V.S. Malimath hailed the contributions of Nageswara Rao to the South Indian film industry.

In his address, the actor thanked the Hindi Prachar Sabha for the honour and said that he deems himself fortunate for having had the kind of opportunities he did. It is noteworthy that ANR was conferred a doctorate in 1977 by Andhra University.
