Amrita Arora's wedding celebrations begin

Finally, its wedding bells for Bollywood beauty Amrita Arora! The actress is getting married to her fiancé Shakeel Ladhak tomorrow. The bride's sangeet ceremony was attended by close friends and family members of the beau and the bride in Bandra recently.

Though the event did not see much of Bollywoodians, Amrita's sisters and their beaus, especially the sexy couple Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan, were present at the jubiliant occasion. Joyce Arora, Amrita's mother, said that though it is a difficult for her to see her “little girl” moving out, she is happy for her marriage with Shakeel. Joyce believes that Shakeel is the right person for Amrita. “They have a lot in common. They seem to be smiling and laughing together,” says the loving mother.

The sangeet was a rich and colourful event. The bride decked up herself in an amazing costume designed by Rick Roy.

If the sangeet stunned the onlookers, what about the other festivities? Well, the bride and her family have a lot more to wow guests! Gorgeous dresses have been designed by popular designer Ashley Rebello for Malaika Arora, Kareena Kapoor, Mallika Bhat, Arpita Khan, Alvira Agnihotri's daughters, as well as Wardha Nadiadwala and Salman Khan for the church wedding. Amrita's wedding outfit is an exquisite confection of silk, satin and lace with diamonds and Swarovski crystals, along the lines of an antique Versace wedding gown. Shakeel's outfits include a suit and a sherwani designed by Shantanu-Nikhil while Amrita's Mehendi outfit will be designed by Manish Malhotra.

Not just the costumes, the whole wedding is a grand carnival. Theweddingis scheduled on March 4th atBandra church, followed by brunch at the Olive. On March 5th, Salman Khan's sister Alvira Agnihotri hosts a sangeet partyin which director-choreographer Farah Khan is doing a musical skit for the bride. This will be followed by a 'Nikaah' ceremony in the afternoon of March 6th and a grand reception in the evening at the Taj Lands End Hotel.

Kareena Kapoor, Amrita's best friend in Bollywood, will be the bridesmaid while sister Malaika Arora will be the maid of honour.

About 500 guests are expected for the grand reception and the wedding. Several industry folk, including the who's who of Bollywood, are expected to attend. Ravi Bakru, popular celebrity wedding planner, has been roped in to manage the wedding logistics.

Enough of wedding festivities. What about the Hen or the Stag party? Well, there will be no such separate parties. Instead, the bride and the groom will together host a party for close friends and family at China House.

Indeed, this seems to be one of those Big Fat Indian weddings! All the best Amu and Shakeel!
