Director Ameer, who made the National award winning film Paruthiveeran, has filed a police complaint against its Telugu release yesterday. In his complaint he has alleged that Studio Green and Gemini Lab are trying to release the film in Telugu without his permission. He also demanded the royalty rights for story, screenplay and direction. He further stated that a letter was earlier sent to Gemini Labs asking them not to give the dubbing rights and negatives. But they went ahead with the dubbing process. The case is still pending in court.

Paruthiveeran was a biggest blockbuster in 2007, grossing around $14 million at the box office in its 368 day run in the theatres. The Telugu version is titled as Palanti Veerudu and is expected to grace theatres on March 2, 2012.
