Buzz is that Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar will star in the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Thuppakki. The Tamil version which stars Vijay as the lead is touted to be an action thriller. Murugadoss, who directs the original version, is expected to direct the Hindi version as well. But both the filmmaker and the Bollywood star are yet to confirm the news.

The Tamil version is currently progressing in Pune and Mumbai. Kajal Aggarwal plays the leading lady in it. Vijay plays an encounter specialist in the movie, and the movie is expected to hit the screens in August.

The remake version also shares a common factor between the filmmaker and Akshay. The Hindi version would be the second remake film for A. R. Murugadoss, who directed Ghajini (Hindi) which is also a Tamil remake. The movie would also be the second remake of a south film for Akki, after Rowdy Rathore.
