Acting does not ignite my passion: Soundarya

Riding two horses at the same time is fine for Soundarya Rajinikanth. Her first production venture Goa is getting ready for release. On the directorial front, Soundarya says that she is through with 80% of the shoot of Sultan The Warrior. So naturally Soundarya is now her relaxed self. The desire to show Rajinikanth in a way not seen before in this animation film has resulted in the delay, she says.

“As a director, it was a new testing ground; I realized the hard way that it is not easy to direct an animation film. No wonder such movies take even seven years in Hollywood. The layers and frames have to be totally different, more so when the lead actor happens to be Rajinikanth,” says the proud daughter.

Warner Brothers pulling out of the production has not unduly upset Soundarya. “It is just that their system of functioning is totally different. Everything is planned in Hollywood well in advance but ours is more of a trial-and-error method. It is only a matter of time when Oscher Studios and Warner Bros. will have a tie-up for a series of movies,” said Soundarya with confidence.

As a producer, Soundarya aspires to do a lot. Her directorial dreams could take wings depending on the kind of projects she finds to her liking.

When asked why she is rejecting all acting offers, Soundarya said actind does not ignite her passion. “There are a few liberties you could take behind the screen," she revealed her viewpoint smilingly.
