Aarya Babbar debuts in Punjabi

After having made his debut opposite Amrita Rao in the forgettable flick Ab Ke Baras, Arya Babbar, son of veteran actor Raj Babbar, disappeared for a while. He was later seen in a small but prominent role in Mani Ratnam’s Guru.

Now Aarya (yes, he’s got his name spelling changed too) is all set to make his debut in a Punjabi film titled Virsa. The launch party of the film that took place over the weekend saw quite a few big names in attendance. Daddy dearest Raj Babbar along with Mahesh Bhatt launched the film in grand style while mom Nadira Babbar and sister Juhi Babbar were present to extend their support to Aarya.

Virsa is the first truly international Punjabi film with cast and crew from India, Pakistan and Australia. The film is directed by Pankaj Batra, who has earlier worked as an assistant with filmmakers like Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Kalpana Lajmi. Virsa is a Wize Mindz Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. production presented by One World Entertainment and stars Aarya Babbar, Gulshan Grover, Kanwaljeet Singh plus some well-known Pakistani actors such as Naumaan Ijaz and Mehreen Raheal in lead roles.
