Laal Singh Chaddha, the team behind the Hindi remake of Forrest Gump recently came out to address and extinguish the rumours surrounding it that the movie's release will not be delayed. Well, that news goes out the window with the arrival of the most latest update regarding the film. What was once a movie that stuck to its release date (14 April 2022) strongly has surrendered itself to the inability to complete the film in time and has decided to release it on 11 August 2022 instead. This counts as a major blow to all Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan fans out there as now they are made to wait due to the crew's change in plans.

The representatives of the film came out on Twitter with a post that stated, "This is to announce that our film, Laal Singh Chaddha, will not be releasing on 14 April as planned. This is because we are unable to complete the film in time. The film will now be releasing on 11th Aug 2022 in theatres worldwide. We would like to thank MR. Bhushan Kumar, T Series, Om Raut and the entire team of Adipurush from the bottom of our hearts. We would like to thank them for being so helpful and understanding, and for shifting the release date of their much awaited, Adipurush, starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan, so that Laal Singh Chaddha can come on 11th Aug 2022."

The upcoming comedy drama is directed by Advait Chandan with its screenplay written by Eric Roth and Atul Kulkarni. The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Viacom18 Studios and Paramount Pictures. It is a remake of the 1994 American comedy drama Forrest Gump which itself was based on Winston Groom's 1986 novel of the same name, the film stars Aamir Khan as the titular character along with Kareena Kapoor Khan and Naga Chaitanya who is to make his Bollywood debut with this film.
