'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's iconic film, Aalavandhan (2001), is gearing up for a massive re-release in theatres worldwide on December 8, and blockbuster producer-distributor Kalaippuli S. Thanu is leaving no stone unturned in making it a grand visual feast for audiences everywhere. The film directed by hit Tamil filmmaker Suresh Krissna and featuring music composed by the Shankar–EhsaanLoy trio, has Kamal Haasan appearing in dual roles as Major Vijay Kumar and the mentally ill Nandha Kumar alias Nandh, while Raveena Tandon and Manisha Koirala are the female leads.

With only a couple of weeks left for Aalavandhan's re-release, Kalaippuli S. Thanu's V Creations banner has now released the song video of the film's title track, which went on to become a chart-topping hit when the film first came out two decades back. The lyric video includes remastered visuals along with the lyrics, while also featuring a few memorable action-packed moments of Kamal Haasan as Vijay Kumar and Nandhu. The Aalavandhan title song has been sung by Shankar Mahadevan to the lyrics penned by Vairamuthu, with the lyric video giving viewers a glimpse of a car chase sequence that also involves a gun battle between both the characters portrayed by Kamal Haasan.

There is quite a lot of buzz surrounding the Aalavandhan re-release considering Kamal Haasan's blockbuster Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu (2006) returned to theatres sometime back and received a rousing response from fans. The film is an adaptation of the novel 'Dhayam' (1984), which was also simultaneously shot in Hindi under the title AbhayAalavandhan, which also won the National Film Award for Best Special Effects, has since attained a cult classic status among Kamal Haasan's fans, who will be waiting with bated breath to witness the Tamil cinema superstar in action on the big screen next month.
