Blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Venkat Prabhu penned a heartfelt statement in the wee hours of Saturday, November 25, on the occasion of the second anniversary of the release of his science fiction action film, Maanaadu. The hit director shared a special poster featuring Silambarasan TR and SJ Suryah on social media and expressed his joy reminiscing the wholesome experience. Venkat Prabhu, who is currently working on his next film, the tentatively titled Thalapathy 68, wrote on X about Maanaadu, "What an experience making this movie!!! Can never forget this for life!! Venkat Prabhu's Maanaadu featured Simbu as a character named Abdul Khaaliq alongside filmmaker turned actor S. J. Suryah, who once again came up with a memorable performance as the cop Dhanushkodi. The box office blockbuster revolved around the concept of time loop, with the film going on to be lapped up by Tamil cinema audiences. Venkat Prabhu's latest statement about the STR film has drawn a huge response, with wishes pouring in from all quarters, including Archana Kalpathi, the creative producer of Thalapathy 68. Sharing that Maanaadu had one of the best screenplays, she addressed a fan's query saying that the Vijay film will be better.

With Thalapathy 68 announced to open in cinemas in a grand manner in 2024, there are huge expectations for Venkat Prabhu to deliver a film along the lines of Maanaadu and the Vijay film's producer's latest statement has no doubt left fans everywhere excited.
