National Award-winning Tamil actor Suriya will be seen next in the highly-anticipated Kanguva being directed Siva under producer K. E. Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green banner. The film has been announced to open as a summer 2024 release in cinemas worldwide and features Bollywood sensation Disha Patani making her Tamil cinema debut, with the music being composed by Devi Sri Prasad. With Suriya currently recovering after sustaining a minor injury at the Kanguva shooting spot, Gnanavel Raja recently sat down with Galatta to share the actor's mindset about the upcoming ambitious film, while also talking about director Siva's cool-as-a-cucumber approach at the shooting spot.

Speaking about Suriya and his state of mind about Kanguva, K. E. Gnanavel Raja said, "He's very excited. He's happy working on this film. I haven't seen him this satisfied and happy before. Usually, there would be a small fear or a hesitation in him, but he's working with a lot of excitement every day. So, I'm elated that this film has come our way." Gnanavel Raja also opened up on filmmaker Siva's calm and composed demeanor at the Kanguva shooting spot, while reminiscing their journey together since their Siruthai (2011) days. He said, "Siva sir is my childhood friend and we have rejoined professionally many years after Siruthai. I'm happy that we're reuniting after this hiatus. Similar to how I have traveled with Ranjith sir, it has been the same journey with Siva sir. Thangalaan will be Ranjith sir's best film and Kanguva will be the career-best film of Siva sir because they are investing so much hard work."

K. E. Gnanavel Raja further stated, "He (Siva) is not one who makes a big fuss about anything. He doesn't show to the outside world that he's working on such a big-scale project. He handles everything in a simple and modest manner. There's never any mention of a fight or a noise or showing any signs of anger at the shooting spot. Even if there's a crowd of 1,000-1,500 people, he carries the work daily in a smooth and beautiful manner. There's so much grandeur."
